couple of years before Kev passed away he had suffered from with a heart
condition and underwent surgery and treatment to give him a a better quality of
life. He was living life to the full and was able to continue as a full time
career for his wife Gloria. In September of 2010 he was taken ill having
collapsed at home, it was natural to assume that his heart had decided to give
him some more grief, unfortunately that was not the case as Doctors having
carried out tests and biopsies, soon confirmed he had progressive lung cancer
that would give allow him less than a year of life. He was no doubt upset and
gutted about the diagnosis but he wouldn't show it, he faced up to it and got on
with the life he had left, although he would say "Life's a bitch
sometimes", and he would update his progress on Facebook. Kev kept his
dignity throughout and to the end concentrating on making sure that Gloria would be
taken care of when he was gone, not letting himself become a burden to any one,
even to the point of making arrangements for his own funeral
choosing to be cremated in Jeans and a bright orange shirt,
arranging the music at a non religious ceremony and requesting
those attending wear casual dress and lay just a single white
rose each rather than flowers. His chosen music was: |
