Ray was born in Bristol in 1952 the second eldest son of Raymond and Peggy Lester and one of seven children. Educated in Bristol and at the age of 15 years joined the Royal Navy see My Navy Days. Julia was born after Ray the second youngest daughter of Tom and Joan Price and one of four children. Educated in Bristol and on leaving school went to work in Wills Tobacco factory making cigars. |

We met for the first time on Friday 24th November 1978 just before midnight although we had been 'Navy News pen pals' for several months beforehand. We now live and work in Bristol and we celebrated our Silver Wedding Anniversary in 2006, we have three children, Charlotte, Matthew and Abbie, and from a previous marriage to Nicola Ray has two children, Shelley and Darren, between them all they have presented us with eight granddaughters.
